Tiger Fighting, October 24th, Lakers shooting coach Mike Pampesy revealed in an interview how the team forward LeBron James is preparing for the finals.
"G6, we sit down and we have made a game plan. We sit down and routinely. We turned on the video and started analyzing the Heat. LeBron said,'Coach, I want to defend Jimmy (Butler), I want to match His playing time. I feel like I need to face him the whole game. I don’t want anyone else to defend him. I want to defend Jimmy Butler. “That’s the best interpretation of leadership. You are basically there. Say,'I will be the best player in the game, and I want to defend the best player on the opposing team, that's what we have to do.' So, that reveals a little bit about his qualities to you. He was on that day When I entered the meeting in the morning, I planned to say, “I’m going to defend Jimmy Butler and I’ll play for 48 minutes if necessary.” We don’t have to play for 48 minutes (laughs). The game is over in the first 24 minutes, but that attitude I told you a lot." Pampesi said.
In the previous finals, the Lakers beat the Heat 4-2 to win the championship, James played 41 minutes in G6.
